Loomis Rods are lightweight and all around great for fishing.
Plus, they have a lifetime guarantee against breaking.
The G. Loomis rod is not indestructible, (We've had to get a
replacement) but they do honor their great guarantee. They
offer a wide variety of Rod's from short to long. Longer rods
are great for fishing in open areas, and are gaining more
popularity.
Shorter rods have their purpose too. You'll want a shorter
rod if you are casting around lots of overhead brush and cover.
